Nancy Kruh, the managing editor of this study, is a freelance writer who worked for 23 years as an editor and features staff writer at The Dallas Morning News.

Her editing and writing work earned her numerous state and national awards, including the Barbara Jordan Award, the Women’s Sports Foundation Journalism Award, the Austin Headliners Club Award, the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Award, and the Texas Daily Newspaper Association’s John Murphy Award. Her journalism work ranged from a series detailing the denial of reproductive freedom under Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu to a series that followed a high school girls’ basketball team to its state championship.

She is the author of the 2003 book The Disciple Story: The Transforming Power of Scripture (Abingdon Press), a narrative account of the popular Disciple Bible Study’s impact in the church.

She holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from Southern Methodist University and a master of arts degree from the University of Texas at Dallas.
